At this moment, William Clarkson is in Sierra Leone, working
for the Port of Freetown. "When I heard of TRQN, I had no permanent job. The
programme was a unique chance for me to return to Sierra Leone temporarily
and do something for my country. I knew the situation in the harbour was bad
and I felt I could contribute to its capacity building." In every department
of the Sierra Leone Port Authority, Clarkson explains global logistical
processes and trains both junior and senior personnel. He is enthusiastic.
"I like sharing experience with my colleagues. At the moment all is going
well, although there is more need than I can provide during these months.
That is why my training programme is based on the principle of teaching the
teacher. I am currently working on a project idea based on my findings so
far."
