Lively Movie&Debate Event: ‘Wallah, je te jure’

In the run up to International Migrants Day on 18 December, IOM the Netherlands screened the movie ‘Wallah, je te jure’ on 13 December 2016 in the Humanity House in The Hague.
This movie produced by IOM Niger shows the journey from Senegal to Libya and eventually Europe by portraying different migrants along the route. The well attended public Movie&Debate event aimed at broadening the knowledge and interest in migration.
The Movie&Debate event proved to be an excellent platform for the audience to share their thoughts and views on migration. The screening was followed by a lively debate followed with the audience and panelists Lonneke Kapoen (Ministry of Security and Justice), Karin Willemse (Erasmus University) and Goof van Dormolen (Dutch Refugee Council), moderated by IOM NL Chief of Mission Martin Wyss.
The screening took place in view of the Global Migration Film Festival (5-18 December), a global campaign initiated by IOM to introduce the realities of migration to a wider audience around the world.
IOM the Netherlands is planning to organize more migrant Movie&Debate events in 2017.
